D/W Gimmick Build oO
Don't take this build seriously, it's just something to mess around with when you're bored with that slow swinging scythe. It's based upon a sword or an axe. Yep that's right i'm doing the sin of giving the dervish another weapon to use. So how is this supposed to work then?
Well, we'll be using one of the Avatars. Avatar of Lyssa to be exact. The idea behind the build is to use the insane bonus damage the avatar gives with a higher Attack ratethan that of a scythe. It's mostly a build against casters and skill (not attack skill) heavy builds. This includes half of PVE and a lot of PVP Builds.
It's not perfect and it's absurdly fragile, but it's a fast killer, it's different and it's fun.
Equipment:
Whatever Sword of Enchanting
The prefix doesn't matter that much. You might want to go for the reliable Vampire Mod here though.
Inscription:
+15% while enchanted
Offhand:
Doesn't matter much.
Inscription:
+5 AL while enchanted
+45 HP while enchanted
Attributes:
Mysticism: 12+1+3 (16)
Swordsmanship: 12 (12)
Wind: 3+1 (4)
Skills:
Avatar of Lyssa [Elite]
Sever Artery
Gash
Final Thrust
Heart of Fury
One of the selfheal skills in Mysticism
Enchanted Haste
Res Signet
Whenever your target dares to cast or use something you punish him with a +53 Damage Hit. If you combine that with your Adrenalin Skills you pack quite a punch. On casters you constantly hit for 80+ damage when you catch them casting, aaaaand for >180 damage when you're using final thrust on that desperate monk trying to heal himself
The method is to bring him down with sever and Gash and once he gets below 50% he is dead by that high hitting Final Thrust. If that is too much of an unreliable risk for you, you can also grab Galrath and Silverwing instead of Sever and Gash but you're driving without a deep wound then. Another option of course is to go Axe. Easier deep wound, more consistent DPS (on an axe, strangely, yes) but lower spike potential this way.
It works like a charm because of applied psychology. If you hunt that monk and get Deep Wound on him, he starts to panic. He knows that the next hit will be deadly and he will try everything to prevent that. He is sealing his doom instead though. If he stops to cast something, you're right there, hitting for triple digit damage and sending him onto the ground.
Heart of fury is your trustworthy IAS, works for quite a time (and the only reason for the enchantment mod). If it gets removed or shattered or just plainly ends it sets every enemy around you in fire. Enchanted Haste is there to keep up with runners. It doesn't last that long but it's better than nothing.
Good enemies will just leave your build standing, melee hate will affect you as well plus you're a squishy. That's why this is a gimmick build, something along the lines of an IW Mesmer. Good for a laugh, good for the "WTF!" Effect. Far from perfect though. And don't even think about using it in High End PVP
/edit:
If you don't want to ditch your scythe you can try zuzubee's build over here

Good idea, that would be a downright pain machine right there
@zuzubee:
Referring to this one?

Sorry, no similarity except for the Elite, Heart of Fury and the Res Signet so how exactly are the builds identical?

The core premise is the same, both builds do the exact same thing, although yours uses sword which does alot less damage than scythe.
You should check before posting to make sure your not just repeating something thats already been done and on the first page.

Aaaand why are you getting so bitter about this?
Sword hits for less damage. Yes but the skills are less energy reliant and more importantly you have a much faster Attack Ratio and thus also a higher chance to actually hit an enemies' skill.
Take a Blight Monk and an average Boon Monk. They both heal. They both deal with conditions and hexes - but are they identical? Nope.

I didnt mean to sound overly hostile, I just fail to see how this is any different from mine. Yah it uses different skills, but to achieve the exact same effect.
The only thing truly different is your weapon.

Hnnng.
As a gift of peace i now included a link to your build in the starting post even though i fail to see how it is identical. Anyways, there is no more reason for you to complain about now. So... please. Get of my back.
@LiamR:
It's just as funny against an Assassin. They spam their attacks one after another without realising that they help me kill them.

I used a similiar style of build in ABs, but I added in Sun and Moon Slash and the scythe skill that slashes twice and gives you health but you lose an enchantment.
Since it's a melee attack...I love being D/W

Yeah, but I used daggers; totally took it a step further into the crazy. I had Mystic Vigor and Mystic Sweep on though, funny how Mystic "Sweep" is a melee attack, I know.
